You are an online voice over actor who relies on not only on your voice over marketplace but also on your social media presence to get your clients’ attention. You have Twitter, Facebook, Google +, WordPress and numerous blogs to get the word out, but you are not getting the attention that you need.
Here are some numbers based on actual social media analytics and research that can help you market yourself better online.

Blogs
Do you write your own blog or have someone else do it? According to Google Analytics, the average word count of top ranked search sites is almost 2500. But before you slave in front of the computer or crack the whip to make your writer churn out 2,000 word blogs, it is best to know that what matters most is content. Google will dismiss your 200 word articles and tag it as thin in content, however 300 words or more of quality writing offers more value to your readers and not run the risk of being tagged as thin. So if you don’t have 2500 words to get the message across, don’t fret, results will be the same with a 400 word of well thought writing.
Google +
According to Damian Farnworth your Google + headline should be under 60 characters. Google + will only show 3 lines of your post including your headline before the “Read More” link. If your title is more than 60 characters it gets bumped up to two lines, leaving just one line for the body of your post. If your first sentence is not enticing enough, your post might just be dismissed by the reader. But if you really can’t keep the headline short, write an attention grabbing first line.
You are likely to get more “Likes” if your FB post is 40 characters or less. Also, according to Jeff Bullas, it is ideal to limit your post to 1 to 4 times per week as it yields better engagement from your friends. So don’t make a blog out of your Facebook page. Engage your audience there but also cite or direct them to your own webpage.
Twitter’s character constraints were designed that way for users’ easy consumption. Best practices by Twitter shares that having less than 100 characters on your tweets produce higher engagement rate from your followers. Also a basic rule on Twitter is to post 3 or 5 times per day.
Overall, it still boils down to BREVITY. It is the killer hooks and quality content that will make your audience click for more.
