The 42nd Annie Awards Winners List
The 42nd Annie Awards ceremony took place last weekend, 31st January, 2015, and How To Train Your Dragon 2 and Disney Television Animation came out as the night’s big winners.
After the Oscar snub, How To Train Your Dragon 2 gets another vindication by getting ASIFA’s top prize, as this year’s Best Animated Feature. They went on to win six trophies for the night, including Director, Character Animation, and Storyboard for Animated Feature. This is a great follow up to their Golden Globe win as Best Animated Feature Film beating out the other four Oscar nominees.
Disney Television Animation brought home eight trophies including the Director award for Animated TV/Broadcast Production for Disney Mickey Mouse. The longest running animated series The Simpsons bagged their 13th win for television’s top prize as Best General Audience Animated TV/Broadcast Production.
The voice acting awards went to Ben Kingsley as the diabolical Archibald Snatcher in Laika’s stop-motion feature film The Boxtroll, and Bill Farmer for voicing Goofy and Grandma in Disney’s Disney Mickey Mouse.
